A Confession by Daniel Higbee
I have never felt like I fit in anywhere. My best friends have always been characters in movies. They told me tales of adventure. Held my hand through scary stories. Told me not to look away as folks fell in love, families fell apart and clowns fell on their face. I learned history, science, poetry, nobility, morality from these friends. I learned to never tell them the odds, what one plus two plus two plus one added up to, and if anyone ever asks me if I am a god I will say yes. My whole life has been a coming of age story. I never stopped being a wide eyed open hearted little nerd running from adults and embracing aliens and magic.
